Overview

FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH Fast Times At Ridgemont High, directed by Amy Heckerling (CLUELESS, LOSER) is simply a modern cult classic. First-time screenwriter Cameron Crowe (JERRY MAGUIRE, ALMOST FAMOUS), went undercover as a high school student and came back with the straight dope on sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll, while capturing some of the most memorable screen characters ever. They're all here, from Stacy (Jennifer Jason Leigh from BACKDRAFT) and Linda's (Phoebe Cates from GREMLINS) sexual misadventures to go-getter Brad's (Judge Reinhold from BEVERLY HILLS COP) quick career in the world of fast food to the unforgettable Spicoli (Sean Penn from U TURN) as the ultimate surfer dude. Add appearances by Nicolas Cage (from GONE IN 60 SECONDS), Anthony Edwards (from TOP GUN), Forest Whitaker (from PANIC ROOM) and Ray Walston (from THE STING) and you have an unbeatable cast. With all this talent behind it, no wonder Fast Times At Ridgemont High is as honest, fresh and funny as it was a generation ago. * Hangouts at Ridgemont High * Music Highlights * Biographies * Director and Screenwriters Commentary BREAKFAST CLUB When five high school students from different social groups are forced to spend a Saturday together in detention, they find themselves interacting with and understanding each other for the first time. A jock (Emilio Estevez), a criminal (Judd Nelson), a princess (Molly Ringwald), a basket case (Ally Sheedy), and a brain (Anthony Michael Hall) talk about everything from parental tension to sex to peer pressure to hurtful stereotypes while serving time. Ultimately, the five find that they may have more in common than they ever imagined and learn more about themselves as well as each other. The only question is, Will they remember what they've learned after they leave detention? Director and writer John Hughes, along with the stellar Brat Pack, cast makes this a memorable, moving film filled with believable dialogue, intelligent humor, and a sufficient dose of high school hijinx.
